Philosophy Wire: Quantum effects. Limitless effects. Overflowing river…

Quantum phenomena once thought to be happening under specific conditions or in certain circumstances, are now observed more and more in all sorts of conditions and circumstances. [see here and here for common time crystals and here and here for some articles on quantum phenomena – entanglement – observed at larger than before scales] Man started from God. And went on to analyze the cosmos. We ate the apple. And broke God into pieces; essentially killing Him in order to see what we wanted to see. Our need to philosophize about everything – instead of accepting them – has led to our quest for the ever-changing river in the forest; ignoring Silenus’ calls. We did approach the river. We tried to step in it. But we were too obsessed with it to notice the ground around us. At some point we will turn our gaze away from it to look around. And only then will we notice that the river is overflowing. Engulfing everything, At the end the land will quench its thirst. At the end there will be no river anymore. What was dead will soon be alive again. And the Sun will come up after the Moon. Killing everything. Look at that little cloud in the sky… What is not dead cannot die… Look… A river forming…

Philosophy Wire: Planets spinning. Minds spinning. For no reason…

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2017-05-24]: Some planets of the solar system keep spinning the ‘wrong’ way for unknown yet reasons. [1] The definition of the “normal” always creates the need for explanations of every deviation. Our need to understand creates the need to know. Our need to know is at the end the source of our ignorance.

Watch the planets.

That’s it. Just watch them. Nothing else.

Philosophy Wire: Frogs. Tadpoles.

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2015-02-12]: Its fangs are not what makes the newly identified Indonesian frog species Limnonectes larvaepartus unique on Earth. The way it makes babies does. This little amphibian from the rain forests of Indonesia's island of Sulawesi is the only one of the world's 6,455 frog species to give direct birth to tadpoles, eschewing the common froggy practice of laying eggs, scientists said on Wednesday. [1]

See all green frogs.
Formulate your theory.
Until you see a black frog.
Then formulate the theory again.

Until you see a...

Well, you get the picture.
Science which is built on foundations is finally built on thin air.
Stop trying to explain the world and you will explain everything.

Philosophy Wire: Evolutionary gaps. Logical gaps. Cosmic gaps.

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-12-17]: First amphibious ichthyosaur discovered, filling evolutionary gap. [1] But how do you believe in something - anything - if your theory has gaps? Think again. All theories have gaps. The world itself and our perception of it if full of gaps. Just void. Filling with anything we wish...

Philosophy Wire: Gravitational waves discovery. So?

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-04-22]: The discovery of gravitational waves from the Big Bang [12] sent ripples of joy among atheists who rushed to share the news as if they shared the news of the end of religion. Theories based on axioms are used to interpret observations. In other words: Nothing to do with religion (either the philosophical system of religion, or the teaching og love of religion, or the religious experience aspect of religion). Science's greatest supporters are the ones who understand science the least. When predicion models become "gods", then you can know for sure that Philosophy is somewhere behind the corner smiling... When theories and axioms are considered more important than love and forgiveness, you can know for sure that Jesus Christ is just somewhere crying...
