Philosophy Wire: Exoplanets. Other systems. Illustrations. Unicorns.

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2016-01-31]: “Glimpse of baby planet shows what to expect when a star is expecting”, says a scientific article. [1] The article contain an “illustration” of a planetary system forming around a star. Illustrations… What a great way of showing things. What a great way of passing over assumptions as reality… But isn’t that what the world actually is? It isn’t that unicorns did not exist. It is that we stopped drawing them…

Philosophy Wire: Science jargon, complexity, voidness..

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2013-12-16]: An international team of scientists has shown for the first time that atoms can work collectively rather than independently of each other to share light. The researchers showed the sharing of light or "photon-mediated interaction" between artificial atoms confined to a one-dimensional quantum system. [1] Science has become complicated and void of meaning. Jargon not related to our every day life. Quantum mechanics is good. Being complicated is not a problem on its own. Not being able to talk into a way that others understand you IS a problem. And it really shows that YOU have not really understood what you have "discovered".
