Many times we are impressed by technologies of extreme cost. Would we be equally impressed if we had used the 1/1000th of the money spent for that reactor and for that tool, in order to build an infrastructure of renewable energy sources (e.g. for wind harvesting in the Highlands of Scotland) ?
