I don't want to be 8...

A child crying...

Because her birthday is coming...

And she does not want to become 9...

She wants to stay 8 for ever...

Oh, dear child.

Listen to me.

You will be a child for ever.

As your mom and me.

Don't be fooled by the aging skin.

Or the tired eyes.

Inside the soul, we are still a kid.

Playing.

Laughing.

Happy.

Being sad.

As that first time I came to Be...

Philosophy Wire: Prejudiced AI.

Showing prejudice towards others does not require a high level of cognitive ability and could easily be exhibited by artificially intelligent machines, new research has suggested. [1] We believe that the more we know the more “freely” we think. We strive to increase our knowledge in order to be able to think more objectively and independently of any prejudice. And yet. Whatever we “know” hinders our ability to learn new things. Whatever we understand breaks the cosmos into non-existent pieces which can never come back together again. All prejudice is based on knowledge. Seek wisdom in children. They know nothing. And that is why they are not prejudiced at all in favor of knowledge…

Do you dare to go and play?

Philosophy Wire: Growing up. Breaking the world into pieces. [Damn these details]

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2017-03-29]: The older we get, the more difficult it becomes to put the world around us in order. Yet, our brain develops strategies to slow down the effects of aging. To put it simply: they pay more attention to the details and look more closely than younger people. [1] When we are young we cannot easily find similarities between seemingly different objects. When we are young we cannot yet distinguish the world into pieces. While growing up we learn to see the details. While growing up everything seems different. The greatest detail which eludes us as adults is that there are always more details… Think as a child again and you will see the world. As a whole.

Philosophy Wire: Children. The greatest philosophers.

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2016-10-25]:

A child* sees the moon. Then moments later it sees the moon again. “Another moon!” it cries out. A child is in the elevator with its parents. She sees herself in the mirror on the ceiling along with her mom and dad. “We are up!” she cries out.

Grownups might think she is wrong and confused.
But she is right in everything she says.
We see what we think. What we think exists.

As simple as that.

Children. The greatest philosophers.
The cleanest mirror. Yes, it is us up there...
