Philosophy Wire: Oppression: The yeast of atheists…

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2015-12-03]:

“I was oppressed by my dad”…
“The bad priests”…
“The bad church”…
“We pay for religion”…

Leave religion free and separated from state and more atheists will lose their reasons to be atheists than Christians their reasons to be Christians…

Remember: Only when the student is ready, does the master appear.

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-09-23]: Women are more religious than men. [1] Men oppress women. Atheists oppress religious people.  Cronus eats his children. Gaia cries...

Philosophy Wire: Schizophrenia, imitation, madness...

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-04-20]: Brain mapping confirms that patients with schizophrenia have impaired ability to imitate. [1] What is different is "crazy". And it must be eliminated. Start imitating if you wish to live...

Philosophy Wire: France - Signs of oppression...

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-03-08]:

Freedom of speech is denied [see Dieudonné case - 1, 2], but freedom of celebrating abnormal [see gay marriages - 3] and freedom of celebrating unethicality [see "French President Francois Hollande has confirmed his separation from his partner Valerie Trierweiler" - 4] is celebrated.

No, I am not saying that gay people should not have rights. I am saying they should not have the right to raise children as if they were "normal" - when it is obvious they are not.
No, I am not saying to allow racism. I am saying to stop seeing Nazi symbols everywhere by turning upside down/ right/ left any image we see only in order to look more "democratic".
And yes, I do say that we should not fuck other women when we are with another woman.

It seems simple. But "progressive" people have the tendency of making simple things complicated...
It is very hard to be considered one of the most progressive states in the world. You are somehow forced to have "progress" in every field of life, even there where the right decisions have already been made. Change is considered "progress" even if it is change to something worse. Being static is considered "bad". You want to move so that noone considers you "regressive". But you ignore the possibility that you may have already reached the right place.

"Newer is better".
"Modern is wiser".
"The old ones did not know".

Men with a childish way of thinking. Ruling nations...

Philosophy Wire: Climate. Ice. Forum. Bans.

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-02-01]: Reddit's science forum banned climate deniers. Why don't all newspapers do the same? asks a Reddit forum moderator. [1] Consensus is crucial! After all this IS the goal of the peer review system in the first place! When everything is built on this foundation, why are we so surprised that such things occur? Man love spiritual security. Whoever disrupts it is in big trouble.

Philosophy Wire: Nonconformity and freethinking: The new mental illness! [DSM-IV]

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-01-23]: Is nonconformity and freethinking a mental illness? According to the newest addition of the DSM-IV (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), it certainly is. The manual identifies a new mental illness called “oppositional defiant disorder” or ODD. Defined as an “ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile and defiant behavior,” symptoms include questioning authority, negativity, defiance, argumentativeness, and being easily annoyed. [1] Rational is the belief of the many. The others are just... ill!

Philosophy Wire: Do something! Do something!

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-01-20]: A software which monitors brain activity and increases your workload so as to keep you focused and prevent you from "zoning out" [1]… Modern society does not let you dream away. You must be doing "something" all the time. It is the only way to forget how to live...

Philosophy Wire: East Germany, Stasi, the illusion of freedom.

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2013-10-01]: We feel sorry for the people who lived in East Germany, with Stazi watching them all the time. We feel sorry that they were not free. However we too are affected by what we are taught. We too are affected by what we are told. Let me tell you one thing: The FIRST step for not being free, is believing that you are…

Philosophy Wire: Drugs, consciousness, state control...

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2013-06-05]: A former Microsoft executive has announced plans to make marijuana a brand in the US. [1]

Contrary to common belief, our society ACCEPTS the use of drugs. Alcohol, coffee, Prozac and now marijuana are all legally used in many places of the "modern" and "civilized" world. What is the catch?

That all of these drugs are altering your consciousness in a way that does not disrupt your view of society regarding its structure and functioning. No one became a rebel by drinking too much whiskey or coffee. On the other hand drugs like LSD are banned - they give their user a too much altered point of view that society cannot acceot. It is not me that says so. TED said it [The War on Consciousness - Graham Hancock].

Philosophy Wire: Why communists are colorless…

Berlin-Wall-murals-by-Fre-010Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2013-06-04]:

It was always something that troubled me. Why do all communist states have zero aesthetics? Why are they colorless? Why are they grey? Well, a fellow-philosopher in the family made me realize the truth: Colours imply emotions. And emotions are too dangerous for a regime which wants you all “equal” and obedient…

Again and again… I just wanna feel this moment!

Philosophy Wire: Humor, regimes, dictators…

130520134241-01-syria-cartoonist-horizontal-galleryPhilosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2013-05-27]: Syrian political cartoonist Ali Ferzat, shown earlier this month at the Oslo Freedom Forum, says pens have the power to topple dictators. The self-taught artist has mocked authority since he was a young boy. His hands were broken by the Syrian government recently, before he managed to leave the country. [source: CNN News] If regimes fear of a pen, then how powerful are they really?

Philosophy Wire: Against smoking and the Oppression of “politically correctness”

_64491980_cigarettePhilosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2012-12-03]: Australia has become the first country in the world to introduce plain packaging for cigarettes. From now, all tobacco company logos and colours will be banned from packets. They have been replaced by a dreary, uniform, green/brown, colour accompanied by a raft of anti-smoking messages and photographs. [source: BBC News] There will always be people who think they can tell others how to live their lives. I am not a smoker my self, but I find the idea of someone dictating how others should live appalling. Today it is smoking. Tomorrow it could be the “I have sex” or “I sing opera” or “I play Playstation”…

Philosophy Wire: Gay Pride ban and why we should NOT care…

8B4BB52B52C9D73766025A7169638ACFPhilosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2012-08-18]: Moscow has banned Gay Pride parade for the next 100 years. Human rights activists are protesting around the world [source: BBC News]. But why do they protest? What is exactly that which non-homosexuals should tolerate? Why should we have annual parades of homosexuality and transexuality while all other parades (even those related to important national anniversaries across the world) are reduced or completely abolished? When does the fight for human rights ends and the oppression of the silent majority from a never-ending shouting minority begins? Homosexuals have now every right to vote, to walk along the street, to dominate TV and media and to get married. What more would they want? Gay Pride has changed from being the symbol of a fight to a mere street happening. Homosexuals around the world are trapped into the same trap feminists were trapped some time ago: after having win their game, they continue to move on with great speed and outside of the court field…

Philosophy Wire: The need to tag every murderer as “insane”–The Breivik case

Anders Behring Breivik’s defence have told his trial he should be considered sane. Lawyer Geir Lippestad told the court in Norway his client had been driven by extreme politics, while on the same trial the prosecution has called for Breivik to be considered insane [1].

Is that really happening? What is the matter with “progressed” societies? Foucault would be turning over in his grave with this. Insanity as a tool of society to impose rules and codes of conduct…

The dream of every murderer is to be characterized as “insane” so as to get better off with the sentence. However modern Norway cannot let that happen! If you do something different in the “paradise” called “civilized” countries, you have no other choice but to “be” insane! Illogical! Out of your mind! It does not matter that naming you insane will lead you better off to a nice psychiatric resort instead of a prison. It does not even matter that you yourself claim that you are perfectly sane and have deliberately planned what you did months before.

Because we cannot handle exceptions to our nicely formed rules, we are too eager to tag anything irregular as “insane”. Breivik cannot have really thought of what he did. He cannot have really wanted to do what he did.

You MUST be insane!

So that all the others can remain “sane”…
