Philosophy Wire: When to blame?

A recent study finds that people are likely to blame robots for workplace accidents, but only if they believe the robots are autonomous. [1] We are ready to accept responsibility. As soon as we consider our self free. But the whole war against religion is based on our idea of being “free”. For people who are not free cannot be held responsible for anything. We denounce this freedom. Thus we feel free! But what we don’t see is that this is the best way to be enslaved. And yet, only those who can choose to be slaves are truly free! In a vicious circle we are caught. And there is no way out. But who could you blame for this? Perhaps this is the key to all. That there is no door…
