Philosophy Message by Spiros Kakos [2012-01-21]: He lived alone and in poverty. A pariah who claimed to be the King of Kowloon at Hong Kong, filled every street with his calligraphy in order to prove his blood inheritance [source: BBC News]. Now, after his death, his works are appreciated more than ever (I could say “they are sold for thousands of dollars” but that would be too shallow). People like Tsang Tsou-cho are named crazy by most people, but this could not be more far from the truth. Édouard Schuré, the writer of the infamous “Les Grands Initiés”, said it eloquently: pariahs were living alone in the deserts without food, money or any property. And though they seem powerless, they are the most powerful people in the world. Even Kings fear them… Next time you see a Tsang Tsou-cho on the streets do not laugh. His madness could be the most logical thing you ever encountered.
