Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-11-26]: A pregnant woman with twins decided to kill one of the embryos because it had some heart problems that would require extensive surgeries to fix (!!!) However the doctors made a mistake and injected the wrong embryo, thus killing the more healthy one [source: BBC News]. We kill embryos. We decide who lives and who dies on the basis of nothing more than our personal comfort. Modern medicine has become fully de-humanized. And science is the one who dictates who should and who should not live. Darwin would be so proud: we finally get to kill the “weak”! Nietzsche was right after all: God is indeed “dead”.
