Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-11-10]: Research to the letters of Lemaitre concluded that he was solely “responsible” for not being recognized as the one who first discovered that the Universe is expanding. He was indeed responsible for not sending a more extended paper with his findings when asked by a well known scientific magazine. However he DID publish his full research TWO (2) years before Hubble, but in a less known magazine [source: web news]. Hubble is know for his “honesty” in the field of “science”.
