Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-05-14]: France and President Sarkozy will call the e-G8 Summit in order to discuss Internet future policy, one day before the meeting of G8. The founder of Facebook, the Presidents of Amazon and Google and other important personalities of important Internet nodes are going to discuss the present and the future of the Internet. However, the Internet began as something free and as something anarchic. What is the point of defining the “future policy” for the Internet? Doesn’t that make Internet lose its real essence? Internet used to be anonymous and free. Do we now have the need for “presidents” of the Internet?
