Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-04-26]: The Environment Agency of England (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs - Defra), decided that the only 100 "Monk" parrots (is it a coincidence
that the parrot is named as something the atheist England hates?) pose a threat to the environment of the country! [source: BBC News] This species came from Africa and although it has not caused any damage so far (!!!), can potentially cause a lot of damage with the nests they build on power lines, according to the Department... The fact that all birds do the same does not matter of course... And in case everything else fails they will shoot the birds (!!!), although this has not been done yet a spokesman of the Department said. The stupidity of misconceived ecology at its best. Species move around the planet for millions of years, but now we suddenly have become the judges of such movements and as gods in place of God we decide to kill 100 birds simply because they can POTENTIALY cause damage...!!!
