Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2014-01-01]: Experiments showed that a traumatic event could affect the DNA in sperm and alter the brains and behaviour of subsequent generations. A Nature Neuroscience study shows mice trained to avoid a smell passed their aversion on to their "grandchildren". [1, 2] Of course! Why didn't I thought of this earlier?!? A smell changes the DNA and then the DNA tells the fully grown individual 2 generations ahead that he should be afraid of a specific smell... Sound logical... And so... how should I say it? Oh, well... so... materialistic! ;) Memories passing on to other generations. Biology of the body meeting its dead end... Consciousness as a field. Take your chance!
