Philosophy Wire: Controlling brains...


Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2013-09-12]:

University of Washington researchers have performed what they believe is the first noninvasive human-to-human brain interface, with one researcher able to send a brain signal via the Internet to control the hand motions of a fellow researcher. (1)

No, this does not mean we understand how the brain works. We are just dumb-copying. It does mean however that we are control-maniacs.

Why would we want such a control? Why don't we let go? What are we afraid of?
