Philosophy Wire: Foxes, babies, killings, ecology…

An-urban-fox-in-London-20-006Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2013-02-11]: A newborn baby was almost killed by an urban fox in London. His mother barely saved it from the mouth of the animal who attacked it into the house in its cradle! [source: web news] I wander how will ecologists respond to that. Will they speak of the rights of the animals again? Will they cry out for ecology and “harmony with nature” again? From where I stand, ecology is the freedom to be a hypocrite as long as a fox is not entering your home to eat your baby child.
