Philosophy Wire: 600 millions for Science. Good (?) news

Science minister David Willetts argued that science is an engine of growth and the Treasury listened. [source: BBC News] Of course he did not tell them the big secret: that this Growth does not have dates or deadlines. In that way they wouldn’t be alarmed when scientists ask for more 600 million next year without delivering any result. They just have to have faith…
