The Value of Silence (or: Against Senses)

Silence is more important than speaking…

Beethoven used lower frequency notes as he started having problem with his hearing. As the problem got worse, he used high frequency notes even less. However when he became completely deaf he started using ALL notes again, since he started to rely exclusively on his inner ear for his syntheses [source: web news].

The new movie “The Artist” is by far the best movie of the year. Again, silence has beaten words. The movie is without actors speaking and yet it tells much more than any other “speaking” movie of our time.

Whenever we have something really important to say to a beloved person, we stay silent. Speaking too much to someone is a way of expressing your unwillingness to actually know this person.

You cannot express the holy through the measurable (i.e. with words), but that does not mean that it does not exist. Nonetheless, everything exist through it. Take out the void spaces between every note and music will disappear. Everything depends on this non-expressible "void" - which seems like "nothing"... (Dimitri Lalushi - Δημήτρης Λαλούσης)

As Maeterlinck said, “Logos belongs to Now, Silence belongs to Eternity”.
