Philosophy Wire: 21,000 children die daily. Should we care ONLY about that?

Our obsession to categorize everything has led us once more to the wrong path. Surely the death of a child is tragic. But isn’t the death of a grown man due to hunger tragic as well? And what about the death of whole nations? How tragic is that? Our culturally disabled society has no values and has forgotten to love EVERYONE despite of what he is. Naming specific groups of people as “special” is the last refuge of our inhumane “civilization”…
