Philosophy Wire: To mutate or Not to mutate?

Science astounds us once more: despite the fact that mutations are the “Holy Grail” of modern science and biology, we struggle to fight those mutations as if they were our greatest enemies. Are we heading in the wrong direction or is it that the dogmatism in specific fields of science creates a huge gap between the philosophy of science and the practice of science?
