Philosophy Wire: Trees, human and the alienation of...photography


Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-05-06]: Study of some aerial photos revealed that nearly half of England's traditional orchards are in a neglected condition [source: BBC News]. What is amazing here is not the result of the research but the research itself. We "study" the condition of our plants not by living near them, not by touching them, not by touching their soil, not by smelling their flowers. We "study" the condition of our flowers by analyzing "aerial photos". Scary...
