Philosophy Wire: Hawking - From "thinking freely" to "being dogmatic"...

aaa2Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-05-16]: Hawking stated in an interview that "There is no afterlife" and that "Paradise is a fairy tale for those who are afraid of the dark" [source: web news]. The known physicist is becoming more and more dogmatic as years pass. From the statements he made in the "Time's Chronicle" where a Demiougos (God?) was part of his thinking, Hawkins has passed to the dogmatic ban of time travel (see his known axion that time travel cannot happen due to a paradox he thought, wven though Godel proved mathematically that time travel CAN happen) and now to the dogmatic statement that materialism is the only truth (and, hence, when our physical body deteriorates we sieze to exist)... From scientist to a dogmatic priest of "life is only dirt and stones". Can it get any better? When we come near death, we are all afraid and this is normal. But few people try to pass on their own psychological issues to humanity by strong declarations of "absolute truth" about our NON-existence...
