Philosophy Wire: Google, goggles and the meaning of "seeing"

Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-04-17]: Google is developing an application with which computers can "see "and recognize an image, allowing the search for information about objects you photograph via the Internet [source: CNN News]. What does "see" mean? If Google's algorithm turns out the right result and correctly tells you that what was photographed by a camera is the Eiffel Tower, does this means that it actually "understood" what it "saw"?
