Philosophy Wire: Riots in Cairo, looting of the Museum and the essense of culture
Philosophy Wire by Spiros Kakos [2011-01-30]: Soldiers and demonstrators prevented the looting of the Cairo Museum by nine people. However the army was not able to prevent the serious damages done to several valuable artifacts of the museum. It is quite interesting that during wars and riots, most people tend to care for the safety of their cultural heritage. Why so? Is it because we all want or wish to be a part of a bigger picture? Or is it because we trully are?
