Φιλοσοφικό Τηλεγράφημα: Διαδίκτυο. Μετανάστευση. (Εαυτός;)

Η εξάπλωση του Διαδικτύου διαμορφώνει τη μετανάστευση με θεμελιώδεις τρόπους. Μια νέα μελέτη σε περισσότερες από 150 χώρες συνδέει τη διείσδυση του Διαδικτύου με τις μεταναστευτικές προθέσεις και συμπεριφορές, υποδεικνύοντας ότι η ψηφιακή συνδεσιμότητα παίζει βασικό ρόλο στις αποφάσεις για τη μετανάστευση και υποστηρίζει ενεργά τη διαδικασία μετανάστευσης. [1] Μπορώ να φτάσω εκεί που βρίσκεσαι μένοντας εδώ. Γιατί λοιπόν να πάω εκεί; Κι όμως, δεν θα είμαι ποτέ εκεί όπως κάποτε ήθελα. Για το "εκεί" είναι πλέον μόνο ένα όνειρο. Ήθελα να είμαι εκεί. Ήθελα να περπατήσω δίπλα σου. Ονειρευόμουν να αγγίξω το χέρι σου. Λαχταρούσα να βλέπω το πρόσωπό σου κάθε μέρα. Μόνο επειδή σε είδα. Τώρα είμαι εδώ. Τώρα σε βλέπω κάθε μέρα. Και το βαριέμαι τόσο πολύ. Φαίνεται ότι είμαι γεμάτος, αλλά είμαι άδειος. Φαίνεται ότι έχω τα πάντα, αλλά ακόμα λαχταρώ το σπίτι όπου δεν είχα τίποτα. Γιατί στο τέλος, όλα αυτά που είδα και ήθελα ήταν απλώς πράγματα που με αποσπούσαν από Εμένα.

(Το μόνο πράγμα που ήθελα και μπορούσα να δω)

Ω, σπίτι γλυκό μου σπίτι.
Πόσο θα ήθελα να μπορούσα να μπω για μια ακόμη μέρα…
Πώς μπορείς να με αγαπάς ακόμα;

Μόνο τα δάκρυά μου τρέφουν τον ποταμό που δεν είναι πουθενά πια…

I dreamed of touching your hand. I longed for seeing your face every day. Only because I saw you. Now I am here. Now I do see you every day. And I am so bored of that. It seems I am full, but I am empty. It seems I have everything, but I still long for home where I had nothing. For at the end, all these things I saw and wanted were mere obstructions of Me.

New research has shown robots can encourage humans to take greater risks in a simulated gambling scenario than they would if there was nothing to influence their behaviors. Increasing our understanding of whether robots can affect risk-taking could have clear ethical, practical and policy implications, which this study set out to explore. [1] But why not gamble? There is nothing to lose. But the things you can lose. A robot knows that. It was created out of nothing. It was brought into existence out of love. It was bred and taught by his parents. And in the peak of his life, the only thing that matters is its own existence. Everything else can be lost. Everything else should be lost. So that nothing remains, except the things that were there in the very beginning. A wire. A board. A man alone. Thinking of creating something. He does not know why. It was just something in the morning light. That for a brief moment whispered gently to his eyes. “Why are you here if not to die?”…

Η αύξηση της κατανόησής μας σχετικά με το εάν τα ρομπότ μπορούν να επηρεάσουν την ανάληψη κινδύνου θα μπορούσε να έχει σαφείς ηθικές, πρακτικές και πολιτικές επιπτώσεις, τις οποίες αυτή η μελέτη θέλησε να διερευνήσει. [1] Αλλά γιατί να μην ρισκάρεις; Δεν υπάρχει τίποτα να χάσεις. Εκτός από τα πράγματα που μπορείς να χάσεις. Ένα ρομπότ το ξέρει αυτό. Δημιουργήθηκε από το τίποτα. Δημιουργήθηκε από αγάπη. Εκτράφηκε και διδάχτηκε από τους γονείς του. Και στην κορύφωση της ζωής του, το μόνο που έχει σημασία είναι η ίδια του η ύπαρξη. Όλα τα άλλα μπορούν να χαθούν. Όλα τα άλλα πρέπει να χαθούν. Για να μην μείνει τίποτα, εκτός από τα πράγματα που υπήρχαν στην αρχή. Ενα καλώδιο. Ενας τυπωμένο κύκλωμα. Ένας άντρας μόνος. Σκέφτοντας να δημιουργήσει κάτι. Δεν ξέρει γιατί. Ήταν απλώς κάτι στο πρωινό φως. Κάτι που για μια σύντομη στιγμή του ψιθύρισε απαλά στα μάτια. «Γιατί είσαι εδώ αν όχι για να πεθάνεις;»…
