Νέα έρευνα δίνει την πρώτη λεπτομερή εικόνα της κοιλιακής ραβδωτής δραστηριότητας (ventral striatum activity) κατά τη διάρκεια τριών φάσεων λήψης αποφάσεων που βασίζονται στην προσπάθεια - την αναμονή της έναρξης μιας προσπάθειας, την πραγματική εκτέλεση της προσπάθειας και την ανταμοιβή ή το αποτέλεσμα της προσπάθειας. [1] Μικροί άνθρωποι. Αποφασίζοντας να κάνουν μια προσπάθεια μόνο όταν υπάρχει ανάγκη να καταβάλουν προσπάθεια. Αποφασίζοντας να μην κάνουν τίποτα μόνο όταν υπάρχει ανάγκη να μην κάνουν τίποτα.
